Scarlet Levy A. was born on the 20th of December 1975, in Belgium.
After a study Goldsmith in Antwerp Scarlet decided to use the skills she learned for something new.
She made works of art in metal, which was physically hard labor, but the result was certainly worth it.
A terrible frontal car accident on New year's eve 2007 made a sudden stop to her activities. It caused a double fracture of her shoulder, so after two surgery's she knew her dream was over. She wasn't able to pursuit the heavy handwork necessary to make her unique works of art.

After 3 years Scarlet was able to use her arm again and continued painting.
She never followed courses in painting, so she had the advantage of not being influenced by other artists or by existing techniques learned in art schools. After a period doing research and experimenting with different techniques and mediums Scarlet finally succeeded in discovering something the art world had never seen before. This discovery would allow her to express herself and her ideas in a unique way. It resulted in wonderful effects. The handling of paint in this totally new manner opens a new world for the spectator and provokes a new 'sphere' in the world of art.
Her paintings are really astonishing. They move you into an unknown world nobody has ever been before. Apocalyptic landscapes, lacerated heavens and surreal visions inside the earth will lead you into new dimensions. Can we call this fascinating world surreal, magic, fantastic, weird, alien, of another universe?
She calls it pre realism and post realism.

Scarlet Levy A. is the only artist using this combination of techniques, mediums and tools, so her works are really one of a kind.
Despite her pain and suffering Scarlet kept on following her dream. There are always situations against you, but Scarlet is a great example for other people, showing to never give up. Be persistent, keep the positive attitude, and try doing only the best with your talents.

Pre realism
Pre realism is an art form which accentuates the stage before realism; the unborn realism, watched through the subconscious mind of the founder: Belgian artist Scarlet Levy A. (°1975)
Where surrealism deforms, rapes or rearranges reality after this reality is known, pre realism is the representation of the pre reality, a development phase which interprets growth to a finished image.
The delineated forms we find in reality are not yet born in pre realism. We see a mixture of partly primitive forms which are still in the action, yet to become the final creation. One form is further evolved than the other, but everywhere is this constant forceful movement. The subterranean violence, fire, atomic beams, molecular movements, dark forces, crucibles and glowing masses are searching with a indomitable urge a way out to the dimension we call reality.
Post realism
Post realism is an art form which accentuates the stage after realism.
Post realism is a development phase which interprets the destruction of reality, where forms are melting down.
The delineated forms we find in reality are melting down. We see a mixture of partly primitive forms which are still in the action, yet to become the final creation, in this case towards destruction or farther: the complete disappearing of forms. One form is further declined than the other, but everywhere is this constant forceful backwards movement. The subterranean violence, fire, atomic beams, molecular movements, dark forces, crucibles and glowing masses are searching with a indomitable urge a way out of reality.
Both painting styles are invented, created and optimized by Scarlet Levy A. It is the result of 6 years intensive research and experimenting different painting techniques. It all started in 2007, but it was in 2013 Scarlet announced the result was ready to meet the eyes of strangers. Since the amount of work, time, money and effort, necessary to create these new techniques where so intense, Scarlet does not reveal these techniques to the public. The techniques and mediums Scarlet uses are required to create the necessary effects which are indispensable to these art forms. Pre and post realism cannot be disconnected from these painting methods.
Scarlet's vision
As an artist I have not the goal or pretension to improve or change the world, my interest lies in the individual. For me, success is being able to embrace and enlighten the soul or heart of the beholder. Abstract art is usually nothing more than decor, a meaningless and soulless color palette; meaning often has to be added in words in order to call it art. Words that usually have nothing to do with the painting.
My paintings do contain a subject. Pre realism is the unborn reality; the growth towards the reality that one can feel both externally and internally. Internally, this can be seen as the will or desire to achieve or change something, to conceive or discover the possibilities in the search for reality, for the egoless self. In post realism, reality is melting away. It means victory over a weakness, the strength and courage that are often needed to achieve a goal, fulfill a wish, the breakdown of the ego, the overcoming of fears or adversity, victory. Sometimes you have to tear down an old house before building a new one.
My wish is that through my paintings or my story people will feel the same perseverance, that the movement and fire that are often subjects in my paintings are transferred to the viewer. Perhaps this fire can be the impetus, a new start, the first step, towards a personal goal. My wish is that as with me, your passion during this short journey on earth becomes an unforgettable, beautiful story full of joy, love, strength and freedom.. without regrets.
